Bring your own sunshine :)

I believe in so many things. For one, I believe in God and I believe in the power of prayer. No matter what, I believe He is listening and that He loves me. I also believe that it is the little things in life that truly make a difference (flash a smile, lend a hand, offer support, drink a diet coke if it will make your day better, etc). I believe in literally and actually singing Darius Rucker’s “It won’t be like this for long” when my children have me at my wits end I feel like pulling my hair out… because I BELIEVE and I KNOW that it REALLY won’t be like this for long, and that makes me sad. (I have friends that can attest to this!) I believe in taking mental pictures, actual pictures and writing down memories to preserve my life and remind of my blessings. (My husband and I email our children who are 2 and a half and 6 months old on a regular basis. I believe that someday they will look at those emails and they will smile at the pictures, the memories and the love that we poured into them. That makes me smile.)

You get the idea. But this post is about a specific belief I have and that is: “Wherever you go, no matter the weather, bring your own sunshine.” This makes SO MUCH sense to me!!! This fall/winter has been a cold, dreary, ugly, rainy one. I have to admit it has even gotten me down! But then I look at the faces of my children, or I hear my mom’s voice on the phone, or get a text from one of my sisters, or hear my dad say “I’m so proud of you!”. Or my husband brings me home flowers, or I hear good news from a friend or a song that I love to sing a long to, and I cannot help but radiate happiness. Lately… it’s my son who says “I love you SO much, mommy!” that really tugs at my heart strings. How can you not be a ray of sunshine when you hear something so sweet?

A while back the people at my local subway actually called me “sunshine”. That meant a lot to me! It meant that I had a positive impact on people and made them smile. If there were more people in this world who were their own SUNSHINE I believe the world would be a better place. Truly!

All for now. Thanks for reading! And please download and print this printable if you are so inclined to remind yourself and your loved ones that it doesn’t matter what the weather man says; you are in charge of the happiness around you! Here’s some SunshineÂ

xoxo
